Bikini and Bathing Suit Shopping
I realize most people probably hate shopping for bathing suits. But if sunning yourself in San Tropez or at least taking a dip in the pool every now and then is in your future, it is essential that you find a good swim suit. Now is the time to do it because all the stores are getting their summer clothes in. This is the time to find a suit that fits AND flatters you because you will have the most variety in styles and sizes. Buy now before everything gets picked over.
Plan a date to go shopping and shop ONLY for a swim suit. When you go to the mall, do a little shopping, then decide to start trying on bathing suits, you are already tired and cranky. You need to be fresh and as positive as possible when you are trying on bathing suits.

Underwear Update for Baby Boomers
I’m so lucky to have my mom close by and in my target market. She teaches high school, so is very young minded, is slim, and wants to look young, but just doesn’t know what to wear.
I tried to get her in slightly lower waisted jeans, as her “mom” jeans were very dated, and she complained that her underwear stuck out. I highlighted the fact that her underwear went up to her waist…they would stick out of anything that was below her boobs.
We bought her a few pairs of thong underwear, which she hated at first, but now loves. It’s amazing how once you put on a pair of slightly sexier and more revealing underwear, you instantly feel younger and sexier. Those high waisted cotton Haines should be tossed. No one should have to wear those.
Updating your underwear is the very first place you should start to update your look! Once you get this in place you can tackle the rest of your wardrobe.

Baby Boomer Fashion
So I’ve started the process of outlining my next booklet. It will be aimed specifically for the baby boomer woman who wants to look great. My last booklet was focused more on everyday dressing for any woman while this book will be for the professional woman. What questions or concerns do you have that you would like me to address? I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Spring Fashion Must Have- Bright Colors
Spring is a great time to reintroduce a bit of color into your wardrobe. This year, you are not limited to the usual Easter egg colors. Bright colors of every shade can be seen in boutiques and a mall near you. Liven up your winter outfits with a splash of color. Just make sure that you are wearing color on an area you’d like to highlight!

Spring Fashion – Geometry Lesson
All I have to say is watch out for these crazy geometric patterns that you are seeing in the stores right now. Just because they are everywhere does not mean that they are right for you.
These loud, bright patterns are very difficult for most people to wear. If you are going to follow this trend, opt for a smaller print, a monochromatic print, or at the very least, wear the loud print on a skirt with a solid colored top. That way at least people will still be able to see your face and not get blinded by the geometry on your dress. Happy shopping!

Help Your Clothes Last Longer!
§ Hang all of your pants and skirts on pant hangers. This will save you space in your closet as well as save you time ironing.
§ Don’t allow clothes to pile up on the back of a chair or the floor. Hang them up after you are done wearing them. This will not only prolong the life of your clothes, but save you money and time on dry cleaning and ironing.
§ Don’t dry clean white shirts. The chemicals yellow your shirts quicker as well as break down the fibers in the shirt. Wash them yourself, hang them dry, and then take them to the dry cleaner for a professional press. This is cheaper and will make your shirts last longer.
§ Give your clothes some space in your closet. Don’t cram every piece of clothing you own in one closet so that there is no space between them. Ideally, you do not want your clothes touching each other. This allows them to air out, preventing mildew and moths.
